I bought this bike second hand at the start of 2021, it was an original Japanese made Suzuki X100. Although I liked the original paintwork, I wanted to customize this bike to exactly how I wanted it. I stripped the bike down completely to frame and began cleaning parts and making modifications.

I used labeled plastic bags to keep track of every screw and component of the motorbike, this was extremely helpful when reassembling the bike. Many of these screws and nuts had rust on them, so I stripped the rust using distilled white vinegar, sandpaper, or a wire brush

Next I began stripping the paint from existing parts and preparing them for repainting. For this I used a standard paint stripper and sometimes added heat to the parts to speed up the stripping reaction.
Some parts required filling (can be seen on tank above) and this was done using Isopen p.38 which made sure all dents and cracks were repaired and ready to be painted.

Next I began re-assembling the bike. A new Carburator was added as I was having issues with the older one when the bike was bought. The front tyre was also switched to a 3.00 from a 2.50. I also began work on rewiring the electrics at this stage.

I then Began work on final paint job. I decided to go with white as the primary colour with the intention of adding decals at a later stage. For the painting on the tank, panels and other parts I used Montana Gold from the can and then finished it with a 2k clear coat. Once the clear coat had dried I wet sanded it lightly, then polished and buffed it out leaving a shiny finish.

Once the bike was fully assembled I decided to switch out the stock exhaust for an expansion chamber exhaust system (shown left). This is a more efficient exhaust for a 2-stroke engine and can greatly increase power output, particularly at high rpm. It's extremely loud and I've had some issues with fitting it so I'm running the stock for now but I hope to use it in the future.
Overall I am happy with the final result, the bike runs well and looks clean. There are still some things I still want to add to my 2-stroke including a front fairing and decals.
